City Cycling | Solana Beach, California
December 7 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
Story
Learn the rules of the road and practice essential riding skills with a licensed cycling instructor.
The San Diego County Bicycle Coalition, in partnership with the City of Solana Beach, is offering this class. Topics covered include road rules, where to ride, general bike safety, emergency maneuvers, legal rights, and responsibilities, and the class will include a guided road ride to put your new skills into action!
Class content applies to both regular and e-bikes. The 3-hour class is broken up into three parts: lecture, skills drills, and road riding.
Class sizes are limited, so please register only if you are certain you can attend. We encourage participants to make a firm commitment to their personal and family’s safety. If for any reason you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible so others can have the opportunity to join and get the class they need for themselves and/or for their families.
You will need a bicycle and helmet for this class. Make sure your bike is in good working order and ready to ride! Some cycling experience is required; this is not a “learn-to-ride” class.
This class is for community members ages 12 and up. Youth under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or designated guardian, and all youth under 18 must have a parent or guardian drop them off and sign a waiver. We highly recommend that parents/guardians take this class with their children so they can both learn the skills and road rules and hold each other accountable.
Helmets are REQUIRED for all riders.
Please fill out the quick, pre-class survey so we hold the class that best fits everyone’s needs! Link here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfhXiGOTfKViKGr2_sk2bYaJnzX9ycOY6-EX16G9YmX7696ag/viewform?usp=sf_link
